CSH Celebrates Opening of Newly Expanded Vision Clinic

The Center for Sight & Hearing Celebrates Opening of Expanded Vision Clinic

The Center for Sight & Hearing celebrated the opening of our newly expanded Vision Clinic with two grand opening events in September. On Saturday, Sept. 7, we warmly welcomed approximately 100 Lions from across the state to the District 1-D Vision Clinic Sneak Preview and Candy Day Jamboree. The day included delicious barbecue, desserts donated by fellow Lions, drinks, and long-awaited interactive tours of the new Vision Clinic.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, the Center hosted a public grand opening, welcoming approximately 200 people, including board members, donors, volunteers, and community members. The Rockford Chamber of Commerce kicked off the event with an official ribbon cutting. Maureen Mall, CSH president, then welcomed attendees and shared information about the Center’s need for the expanded clinic, our programs and services, and how the clinic will offer the latest in low vision care and technology. Guests were then invited to tour the facility and enjoy a barbecue dinner and drinks.

The vision clinic expansion was funded entirely through private donations, grants and the support of the Lions. On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors, we can’t thank you enough. We’re proud to have additional exam rooms and new state-of-the-art equipment. We served 10,653 people during our 2019 fiscal year; the additional space will help us meet the needs of an increasing number of patients in years to come.
